(ĐN)- Sonadezi Long Thanh company has agreed to spend VND11.8 billion as compensation for 169 households in Long Thanh district’s Tam An commune before the 2013 Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
On January 30, these households received 30% of their compensation from the company.
Sonadezi Long Thanh discharged untreated waste water into the Ba Cheo Canal from 2008 to August 2011, seriously polluting its waters.
The pollution badly affected local residents who engaged in farming, fish breeding and animal husbandry along the canal.
