The Environment and Natural Resources Institute has worked with local authorities to do more researches in areas affected by pollution through the release of untreated wastewater by the Sonadezi Long Thanh Company, a subsidiary of the industrial park developer, Sonadezi Corporation, in southern Dong Nai Province.
The evacuation has been carried out to facilitate re-zoning of the polluted areas. A total of 271 families have filed petitions asking for compensation, but only 160 families are so far considered to be from the affected areas.
