(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s localities have been taking drastic measures to overcome the aftermath of Tropical Storm Pakhar and help residents return to their normal lives.
Storm Pakhar, the first storm of this year, destroyed 77 houses, damaged 1,383 others and 10 classrooms, sank 22 boats and flooded more than 300 ha of crops in the province.
The provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control has instructed authorities to calculate the damage caused by the storm in terms of human and material loss.
The committee have mobilised 1,500 people to help local people deal with the aftermath of the storm, clean streets and remove trees uprooted by the storm.
Dong Nai authorities have donated VND6.5 million to the family of the dead man, VND3-6 million each to collapsed houses and VND1-2 million to roofless houses.
