At about 7:15 p.m., a truck driven by Nguyen Tat Thanh, 33, of Lam Dong district, crossed the center line of the national highway 1A while heading Bien Hoa city. The truck struck a motocycle driven by Thai Thi Thu Minh, 23, of Trang Bom district and then hit another motorcycle and two bicycles at milepost 1841+800km in Bau Ca hamlet, Trung Hoa commune, local police said.
According to local police, the 23-year-old girl riding a motocycle and a 15-year-old-girl on a bicycle died on the spot while a 16-year-old boy as a passenger on a motocycle was taken to the Thong Nhat General Hospital for treatment, but died a short time later. The collision also left another motocycle rider in critical condition and two others on bikes severely injured
The truck driver was charged with driving on the wrong side of the two-way highway.
Local police police are investigating the incident.
