More than 20km of caves in the central province of Quang Binh have been discovered by explorers from the British Cave Research Association (BCRA).

Sai Gon Giai phong (Liberated Saigon) daily reported that the BCRA team, led by Howard Limbert, featured than 40 team members, including experts, guides and porters.

Ho Khanh, who found Son Doong, the world’s largest cave in Quang Binh, also helped the team.

Data from the newly detected caves will be released soon.

The Quang Binh People’s Committee said a press conference will be held to announce the discovery of the caves, which suggests that more caves in local mountains are yet to be discovered.

For more than 25 years, BCRA explorers have discovered and measured more than 200km of caves in Quang Binh, helping the province tap into its tourism potential.
