(ĐN)- The final round of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2013 (ABU Robocon) took place at the Da Nang Tien Son Sports Arena on 18 August.
(ĐN)- The final round of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2013 (ABU Robocon) took place at the Da Nang Tien Son Sports Arena on 18 August.
19 teams from 18 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region competed at the contest. Two teams from Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University represent Viet Nam at the competition.
This year’s event, themed Green Planet, included one first, one second and two third prizes.

Japanese students took 51 seconds to beat their hosts Vietnam 1 in the final to win the ABU Robocon.
It is the second time that Japan has won the Championship since the contest debuted in Tokyo in 2002.
Vietnam 2 and Indonesia drew for third place.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan attended the event and presented the award to the champions.

Vietnam Television (VTV) General Director Tran Binh Minh said the regional robot contest helped raise innovation among young students at colleges and universities.
The ABU Robocon this year, the 12th of its kind, marked the third time that Vietnam has won the championships.
