NA concludes last online working day of ninth session

In the morning, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs Do Van Chien submitted the draft national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for 2021-2030.

Chairman of the NA’s Council for Ethnic Affairs Ha Ngoc Chien later presented a verification report on this submission.

After that, Chairman of the parliament’s Committee for Economic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh delivered the NA Standing Committee’s report on revisions to the draft law on investment under the public-private partnership (PPP), about which discussion followed.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung clarified some relevant issues that attracted deputies’ attention.

In the afternoon, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, authorised by the PM, submitted a proposal for the NA’s approval of the 2018 state budget balance, on which an audit report was later presented by Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc.

Lawmakers also listened to a verification report on the 2018 State budget balance delivered by Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs Nguyen Duc Hai.

Then, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung read the NA Standing Committee’s report on amendments to the law revising and supplementing some articles of the law on natural disaster prevention and control and the law on dykes.

Several debatable issues of this bill were scrutinised by legislators. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong also gave opinions in response to their concern.

Later, NA Vice Chairman Phuong Quoc Hien delivered a speech concluding online activities of the ninth session, which he said were very successful and showed the reform and flexibility of the legislature’s activities.

Deputies are scheduled to gather at the NA building in Hanoi from June 8 to 18 to consider and vote on many important matters.
