Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh led a senior military delegation to attend the 9th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM-9) and the opening of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 (LIMA 2015) in Malaysia from March 14-18.
Vietnam’s attendance at the ADMM-9 demonstrates its proactive and responsible participation in areas of cooperation within the ADMM framework with a view to implementing the nation’s defence cooperation initiatives in ASEAN.
The high-level delegation’s involvement in the LIMA 2015 event aims to further promote bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia.The Malaysia visit by General Thanh is being made at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart Dato Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
