The event was organized on May 16 by Dong Nai Labour Union in cooperation with Military School under the provincial Military Headquarters.

Regarding China's illegal placement of the drilling rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 deep in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone, the workers were asked to keep themselves alert and avoid joining crowds that intentionally upset the normal activities of enterprises.
Vice Chairwoman Tang Quoc Lap of the labour union also condemned individuals and organisations that take advantage of the situation to sabotage national peace and unity.
At the talk, the participants sent massages from their mobile phones to support the program “Nghia tinh Hoang Sa-Truong Sa” (Sentimental Attachment to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa) launched by the Vietnam General Labor Confederation.
