As of October end, 75.9 percent of the total population was covered by health insurance, equivalent to 2,154,572 million people, according to Dong Nai Social Insurance Department.
The figure saw a year-on-year increase of 16.72 percent.
Notably, people’s awareness of health insurance has been positively changed. This is reflected by the increase in self-paid insurance buyers.
Over the past three months, Dong Nai province has granted free health insurance cards to nearly 98,000 people, a significant increase from last year.
The province will make greater efforts in communication work to promote awareness campaigns and create favourable conditions for local residents, especially those living in poverty, to register for and fully benefit from health insurance
