(ĐN)- Dong Nai International Hospital has performed surgery to remove a 0.5kg tumor from the neck of a 61-year-old woman named Tran Thi Loan, from Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district.
After five days since the operation, Ms. Loan recovered and was released from the hospital.
Doctor Le Dinh Hung, Deputy Director of the hospital, said this is a hard surgery due to the big struma, measuring a diameter of 10cm x 8cm, which is higher than the chin. The patient also suffered from diabetes so doctors had to lower the rate of her blood sugar before conducting the surgery.
