(ĐN)- Dong Nai Department of Health opened a methadone treatment centre for drug addicts, the third of its kind in the province, at Long Thanh district’s Medical Centre on September 3.
The centre aims to provide methadone treatment for about 150 drug users.
Together with psychosocial therapies, methadone has been proven to be an effective method in helping improve the overall health of drug users, reduce crimes and slow the incidence rate of HIV transmission and other blood-borne diseases.
It is scheduled that the fourth methadone treatment centre will be inaugurated next month in Long Khanh town
