Dong Nai wins gold at national kickboxing champs

(ĐN)- The National Kickboxing Championships concluded on September 25 in Binh Duong province after 6 days of competition.

At the end of the event, martial artists of Dong Nai province scored one gold, one silver and two bronze medals to rank 8th. Accordingly, Nguyen Thanh Khiet won the only gold medal in FullContact 51-kg category for men.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong topped the event, followed by clubs from Ha Noi and HCM city.

The event attracted the participation of more than 200 athletes from 22 provinces and cities across the country, competing for medals in 28 weight categories for both men and women.

Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate, muay Thai, Kun Khmer and boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or as a contact sport.
