This year’s tournament attracted athletes from 10 teams across the country, including hosts Thai Nguyen, Public Security, Dong Nai, Ha Noi, Kinh Bac Wrestling Association, Nghe An, Thua Thien-Hue, Tuyen Quang and Vinh Phuc. Athletes are competing in 12 categories of weight, ranging from 48kg to 85kg.
According to the organizing board, wrestlers who won gold and silver medals would be recognized as national masters, while the bronze medalists would be acknowledged as first-leveled masters.
The tournament is among the activities being conducted to promote development of the sport among people.
The championships will conclude on May 15.
