This figure is expected to reach more than US$4 billion in 2021, according to the provincial Department of Statistics.
In Jan-April, the province’s exports were estimated at more than US$7.6 billion, a yearly hike of 29 percent, while imports were over US$6.33 billion, or 36 percent higher than the same time last year.
Commodities with strong growth in export value in the reviewed period included computers, wood and wooden products, machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, electronic products and components, fiber and yarn, transport vehicles and spare parts, etc.
Foreign-invested companies accounted for some 79 percent of the province’s total export turnover.
