The figures represent a decrease of 5 percent in the number of enterprises compared to the same period of last year.
Average registered capital in each enterprise established in the first half was approximately VND10 billion.
According to General of Statistics Office, the country saw more than 62,000 new enterprises in the first six months of this year, with total registered capital of VND697 trillion. The number of workers employed in newly established enterprises was 507,000 people.
Besides this, 25,200 firms returned to operation in the first half, down 1.5 percent year-on-year.
