Footwear export turnover hits $1.4b in Jan-April

(ĐN) - Dong Nai's footwear sector in the year up to April posted nearly US$1.4 billion in export turnover, up over 7% versus the year-ago figure, making up some 23% of the country's total.

 

(ĐN) - Dong Nai’s footwear sector in the year up to April posted nearly US$1.4 billion in export turnover, up over 7% versus the year-ago figure, making up some 23% of the country’s total.

Dong Nai’s footwear products have been shipped to more than 70 countries and territories worldwide.

The United States is reportedly the main importer of local footwear, accounting for 37% of the country’s total, equivalent to US$516 million, rising 4% against the year-ago period. Meanwhile, China is the second source market, comprising some US$258 million in total, up 26% year-on-year.

The data also indicates that, from January to April this year, footwear shipments to Germany exceeded US$69 million, up 29% compared with last year’s figure, followed by the UK with the value of US$52 million, up 5%.
