The industrial production index for the January-March period expanded by only 6.1 percent due to the impact of COVID-19 outbreak, lower than 7.6 percent recorded in the same period last year.
Industries with high growth rates were processing sector (over 7 percent), paper production (9.8 percent), leather and related products (20 percent).
In contrast, metal production reported a year-on-year decline of 14 percent. Meanwhile, the production of beverage and electronic equipment dropped 8.7 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.
The province is now facing a shortage of materials, which are mainly imported from China.
