(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, the province earned US$158.4 million from coffee exports in the first three months of this year, up 131.5 percent from a year ago.
Dong Nai’s coffee is now exported to over 30 countries over the world, mainly to the US, Germany and England.
Over the last few years, profits earned from coffee have reduced years by years, causing the area under coffee cultivation in the province getting smaller. Currently, Dong Nai has over 13,000 hectares of coffee cultivation, reducing some 4,000 hectares compared with those of 2017.
The current domestic buying price for coffee is VND30,000-31,000 per kilogram. to increase the economic value of coffee tree, some businesses in the province has invested in intensive processing plants for exports, helping rising their profits.
