(ĐN)- Aquaculture output in Dong Nai in the first three months of the year hit nearly 16,400 tonnes, up 3.6 percent from the same time last year.

In the period, local farms harvested over 14,600 tonnes of fish, more than 1,600 tones of shrimp and some 200 tones of others.

The provinces increased their offshore fishing fleet and aquacultural production areas to 800,000ha.

Currently, Dong Nai has around 8,100 hectares of aquacultural production areas.

In recent years, the provincial agriculture sector has encouraged residents to expand aquaculture areas, develop large-scale concentrated production connectivity models, guide farming households on how to adopt VietGAP standards, and actively respond to natural disasters to mitigate losses.
