(ĐN)- Dong Nai Customs Department and the Republic of Korea (RoK) Business Association yesterday held a dialogue with more than 100 RoK’s businesses investing in the province.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung of the provincial People's Committee and RoK’s Consul General in HCM city Sohn Young Hwan attended the event.
At the event, the department popularized some new policies such as the import of used machinery, regulations on preferential enterprise, along with new preferential policies on taxation for enterprises as well as income tax incentives for enterprises in the field of supporting industry.
Also at the conference, some queries from of Korean representatives in attendance in attendance were cleared up.
So far, Korean companies have pledged total investment capital of more than US$5.2 billion in 327 projects, ranking first among foreign investors in Dong Nai, mainly in the fields of electronic industry, manufacturing industry, steel, automobiles, garment-textile, footwear and commerce.
In the first 6 months of the year, RoK’s investors have been licensed with 25 projects capitalized more than US$125 million; other 13 projects have been approved to increase capital totaling over US$182 million.
The Korean enterprises operating in the province earned more than US$3.3 billion from exports, accounting of 24.5 percent of the province’s total export turnover, equaling the same period last year.
