Dong Nai’s economy in Jan-April period continues to show strong growth across fields. The industrial production index reported an annual expansion of 8.4 percent, while retail and service revenues totaled more than VND44.1 trillion, an annual rise of nearly 12 percent; the consumer price index rose by 1.6 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
During the reviewed period, Dong Nai's export turnover increased nearly 5 percent per year. Notably, the province enjoyed a trade surplus of US$644 million, making up 40 percent of the country's trade surplus, solved jobs for some 28,600 laborers and provided vocational training for around 16,800 people.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong suggested more efforts to improve investment environment and competitive capability index to make the province more appealing to investors. He also asked localities to speed up work on building new rural areas to improve the material and spiritual life of rural people.
