(ĐN)- Central Steering Committee for the National Target Program on New Rural Construction on Oct 14 recognized Thong Nhat district as meeting the new rural area model standard.
So far, 12 out of 14 communes in Thong Nhat district have qualified as new rural areas, the remaining has satisfied 17-18 criteria for new rural development.
The district established 13 specialized crop areas and 20 concentrated breeding areas with a total area of 2,341 ha.
Income per capita of individuals in the locality was over VND18 million per year in 2010, and nearly doubled to VND35 million this year. In 2010-2015 period, the district invested VND11,414 billion for new rural construction.
