Japanese investors keen to promote investment in Dong Nai

In 2014, Japanese Consul General and Deputy Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City made regular working visits to Dong Nai to promote ties between Japan and the locality as well as support Japanese enterprises to increase their investment in the province. Presently, Japan ranks third among countries and territories investing in the province.

Nakajima Satoshi, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said Dong Nai has been an attractive destination to Japanese investors. Japanese enterprises have so far poured over US$3.3 billion in Dong Nai and the figure will be higher in the coming time. Japanese government is working to transfer advanced technology in agricultural production, help the province to increase agricultural value and boost export.

Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Loidl paid a working visit to Dong Nai in June, 2014 to further tighten the relationship and eye investment opportunities in the province.

According to Mr Thomas Loidl, Dong Nai possesses a lot of favourable conditions to draw investment. Moreover, the province has convenient transportation routes to accommodate industries. Therefore, he will make necessary efforts to take Austrian investors to the province.

Presently, Dong Nai is giving priorities in attracting hi-tech, support industry and agricultural projects.

 

 

Thai investors to explore opportunities in Dong Nai

So far, Thailand investors put more than US$500 million into 34 projects in Dong Nai. The figure is estimated to grow in the coming time because Thailand wants to have more big projects invested by its companies in the province.

In the middle of May, Thailand Ambassador to Vietnam Panyarak Poolthup visited Dong Nai to strengthen and develop friendship and cooperation between the two sides.

Thailand’s investment projects have proved effective, greatly contributing to the province’s job generation, export and economic growth. Notably, the Amata Industrial Zone is a symbol of the cooperation between Thailand and the locality.

 

 

France- first foreign investors in Dong Nai.

According to the Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee, France is one of the first foreign investors landing on Dong Nai. So far, some 16 French projects have been licensed in the province with a total investment of more than US$100 million. Over the past time, France’s regions and Dong Nai enhanced their cooperation in education and forest development and protection projects.

In the end of November, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai warmly welcomed the French Consul General in HCM city Emmanuel Ly-Batallan on the occasion of his working visit to the province. The Consul General said that he is willing to act as a bridge for French firms’ investments in the province and hoped that Dong Nai will continue to create favourable conditions for French companies to do business in the locality.

Recently, the province has organized a ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – France bilateral diplomatic ties.

India to invest in agricultural processing projects

During her working visit to Dong Nai on December 23, Indian Consul General in HCM city Smita Pant said that some Indian businesses are considering the establishment of companies to process agricultural products in Dong Nai for the domestic market and export, as well as joint ventures to process pepper and coffee.

She noted the good infrastructure, convenient transport network, and simple and time-saving administrative procedures here.

 

 

 

Trade opportunities with Chile

The Viet Nam – Chile free trade agreement, which took effect at the beginning of 2014, has opened up chances for their business communities, Chilean Vice Ambassador to Viet Nam Alvaro Guzman said at a workshop in Dong Nai by the end of August.

Under the agreement, both countries will lift tariff on more than 9,000 products and offer incentives for their services and investment in the next three years.

According to Guzman, Chilean firms are keen to work with Vietnamese partners active in agriculture, garment, footwear, food, handicrafts and consumer goods.

Chile will be a springboard for Dong Nai’s firms to enter other Latin American countries.
