Accordingly, a flurry of activities are being launched to help poor people enjoy a nice and warm holiday as the Tet festival, the biggest of its kind in the country, is approaching.
Along with efforts by the provincial authorities, Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee called on businesses, organizations and individuals to give over 1,000 gifts worth VND300,000-500,000 each to the poor.
Under the plan, the front will send delegations to visit and present Tet gifts to needy families across the province. Some enterprises and units operating in the locality also plan to provide gifts and free bus tickets for laborers to return their hometown for Tet celebrations.
During the last Tet, the front presented 524,766 gifts totaling more than VND123 billion to recipients, including people with contributions to the country’s revolution and families of martyrs beneficiaries and poor households. Caring for the poor is part of Party guidelines and State policies.
