Dong Nai spent over US$775 million to import 3 items

(ĐN)- Over the first 3 months of this year, Dong Nai-based businesses spent more than US$775 million to import machinery and equipment, tools and spare parts, plastics and chemicals to serve industrial production, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

Particularly, imports of machinery and equipment, tools and spare parts reached over US$303 million, followed by plastics with more than US$255 million and chemicals with nearly US$218 million.

Plastics and chemicals are important input materials for many manufacturing industries such as mechanical engineering, footwear, textiles, textile fibers, and wood products. Meanwhile, enterprises purchase machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts to assemble new production lines aimed at improving productivity and product quality. The primary import markets for these items are South Korea, China, Japan and the United States.
