(ĐN)- Choro ethnic people in Vinh Cuu district's Phu Ly commune yesterday held Sayangva or New Rice Festival.

 

(ĐN)- Choro ethnic people in Vinh Cuu district’s Phu Ly commune yesterday held Sayangva or New Rice Festival.

Together with Choro ethnic people, the festival was also attended by representatives from the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs.

The Sayangva festival is one of the most important festivals of the Choro people. It is held annually with the aim of pay homage to Giang (Heaven) and the spirits, which protect the villagers and bless them with a bumper harvest, clement weather and a peaceful life.

During the festival, many performances and games were organized such as: drums and gongs performances, folk games, traditional music performances and worship Giang and the spirits.
