(ĐN) – Dong Nai’s industrial production index (IIP) for the first 10 months of this year increased by over 1.7 percent from the same period last year, led by the electricity production and distribution and the water supply sector.
According to Department of Planning and Investment, the electricity production and distribution and the water supply sector recorded a growth of nearly 12.3 percent.
Some industries with especially high growth rates included waste-sewage treatment up 9.6 percent, the processing up some 8.4 percent, and mining up 6.2 percent.
In October alone, the IIP picked up 8.61 percent from the previous month. The manufacturing-processing sector is responsible for a large part of domestic industrial production, accounting for more than 90 percent.
