France's Vinci gets concession to operate Vietnam's most modern expressway

(ĐN)- The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) and France's Vinci Concessions Group have signed a cooperation agreement to develop the highway network, including the concession schemes for some highways operated by VEC.

Under the agreement, VEC will sell to Vinci its operation rights of the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway running through HCM city and Dong Nai province, which is considered as the most modern expressway in Vietnam. The two sides will also boost investment cooperation in some new expressways in the country under the list of projects approved by the Ministry of Transport until 2020.

The Vinci Group also pledged to provide support, exchange experiences in management and the operation of motorways, while considering technology transfer opportunities.

The cooperation agreement is expected to help VEC reach its goal of develop and operate 1,000 kilometers of expressways by 2020.
