(ĐN)- According to farmers in Dong Nai province, the prices of raw cashew nuts are now purchased at VND49,000-50,000 per kilogram, VND10,000 higher than those in late August.
The hike was attributed to scarce supply of the farm product in domestic market. Most of the processing firms had to import cashew nuts to adapt their order forms from other countries.
In the first 8 months of the year, Dong Nai exported more than 25,000 tons of cashew nuts, a year-on-year decrease of more than 1,000 tons.
