(ĐN)- At present, the pepper prices in Dong Nai go up to VND130,000-132,000 a kilogram, up nearly VND10,000 compared to the end of August, said pepper growers in the province.

The pepper prices in Dong Nai are VND2,000-3,000 higher than those in Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, but the number of households in Dong Nai province having pepper for sale is not much.

The rise was due to the higher pepper prices in the global market.

The country exported around 103,000 tonnes worth US$677 million over the January-August period, according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The exports saw a year-on-year increase of 20.4 percent in volume and 16.1 percent in value

The average pepper export price stood at nearly US$6,600 a ton in the first eight months.
